yeah you can use redline MTL. it made things feel notchy to me. I like honda MTL better.

What gear oil do you guys use? Is Redline MTL any good or should I go for Mobil 1 GL-5?

I hope you are not planning to use gear oil in your tranny. It uses regular 10w-40 oil. Actually you are better off using honda mtf, it has added lubes that your tranny needs. I used to use synthetic oil in the tranny but got away from it.

I thought that RedLine MTL is made to use/lubricate the transmission??? Redline has some special stuffs that matches the friction that the syncho needs. Never use synthetic motor oil in your tranny...it's too slippery for your synchronizer.

Redline MTF made my tranny feel new again (75,000 miles) no complaints. Shifts are crisp, feels like butter.

I too was scared when I heard that "Honda is the only way to go" or "Mobil is best..."

Anyway, the Redline works great. Maybe when my car hits 200,000 miles I'll realize that I should have kept the honda fluid....
